Secrets To Dog Training

Training dogs to be obedient.

It is very important for your dog to be absolutely obedient to the owner’s commands.

Dogs obedience training starts on key issues like sitting, standing, walking, paying attention to your commands & obbeying them, sitting in the car, etc.

Obedience isn’t an inborn feature. It takes a great deal of effort to make it understand that it mustobey your commands.

Puppies obedience training can be imparted in different ways – two of the most popular methods are the typical carrot and stick methods.

One method depends quite a lot on the stick or punishment approach.

The second method deals with a reward system for the dog.

Dog training using leash and collar has been used for many years now. Though it might be though of as primitive, it is still very popular.

This method is based on the idea that the leash will become the mode of communication with the dog.

The dog must be able to understand the commands, and if not obeyed to, the leash should be put to action. However, using the leash alone is not sufficient -  your dog must be made aware of what is considered good or bad behavior. If tracked on the path to bad behaviour, the dog can be punished with the leash.

Opposed to this, the reward system doesn’t rely on punishing the dog. It follows a more psychological approach to dog training. The dog is taught to understand what kind of behaviour will be rewarded. Its unexpected behaviour is mostly neglected pretty much in the same way as a psychological treatment. The trainer or owner walks away from the dog immediately after it has behaved badly. A dog is an intelligent animal that will be able to understand the difference between good and bad behaviour.

Regardless of the technique used for Puppies obedience training, consistency is a key element in dog training.Dogs get easily confused when double standards are employed. If you expect your dog never to jump on the bed, do not ever let or invite him/her on your bed. Make sure that your dog never reaches the bed.

Dogs obedience training shouldn’t be a problem if you are willing to do it yourself. Alternatively, you can get  your dog enrolled in some obedience lessons with a dog instructor. Before deciding to use outside help evaluate techniques, equipment, infraestructure and experience .

Remeber you should be the ideal instructor for your dog. Your dog will love it.
