Walking in the snow with my dog.
Sonny and I went for a walk in the bush today. Thank heavens for the snowmobilers as they make good paths for us to walk on, otherwise the snow would be over Sonny’s head. He gets snowballs in his paws that sometimes makes it difficult for him to walk. I have made mitts for him that I have bought at second hand stores. I buy childrens mitts that are $1 and are made out of fleece. I cut off the thumbs and sew the hole closed. Then I attach some velcro and elastic about an inch from the top of the mitt so that it secures the mitt on his paw. Now we can go for a walk easily without him or I having to clear the snow balls out of his paws. As well, his feet are clear of snow when we get home once I take off the mitts, so I don’t have puddles of water all over the place. You can also get very fancy mitts for dogs at the pet store, which I have tried, but the ones I remodel are much cheaper and last longer. I say whatever works.
