Secrets To Dog Training

Dog Training: House Training 101

You are all excited about your new puppy? And so you should be… and in order to keep up that level of joy and excitement about the little one, you should start thinking about house training.

You need to train your puppy to stop relieving himself on your carpet. You should find a way to teach your puppy to hold it until it is time to go out for a walk.

Of course, there are innumerable ways to house train your puppy. And if you go about it the right way, it should not be too difficult either. Mostly, what you need is patience. Punishing your dog will not speed up the process.

You can monitor the behavior of your puppy and see what the warning signs are for him before relieving outdoors. If the weather is nice, you should teach your puppy to stay outdoors.

You should take your puppy outside for a walk, especially after eating, sleeping or playing. At the beginning, it would be ideal to take your puppy outdoors every 15 minutes.

Another important idea is to get a crate for him that he will really like. He can sleep in it, and he will make every effort to keep the crate clean – that’s just something dogs know to do intuitively.

Of course, using a litter box can also work. The idea with the litter box is that you do not need to take him outside at night, because he can simply use the box without any help.

Your puppy will rather relieve in a litter box than in his crate. This is a much better solution for you than to take your puppy out late at night.

You should carry the puppy outside early in the morning. Every time your puppy successfully relieves outdoors, you should give him a treat or some other kind of reward. House training of your puppy is a gradual process. After a successful training, you will see positive results.
